Choosing high deductibles can save as much as $550 each year, while buying higher liability limits will cost you more. Switching from a 50/100 limit to a 250/500 limit will cost up to $378 more per year
If you have a few violations or tend to cause accidents, you are probably paying at a minimum $1,700 to $2,300 extra annually, depending on your age. A high-risk auto insurance policy ranges anywhere from 43% to 134% more than average.
With so much difference in rates, the only way to figure out exactly what you will pay is to get quotes from as many companies as possible. Each auto insurer uses a different rate calculation, so the rates will be substantially different from one company to the next.
